General Mills (NYSE: GIS) today announced that all General Mills cereals in the U.S. are now made without certified colors, completing this milestone in line with the company’s summer 2026 commitment. This moment builds on the company’s March 2026 achievement of removing certified colors from all K-12 school foods.

“As the leader in cereal, General Mills is focused on giving people what they are looking for from the brands they know and love,” said Bethany Quam, president of Big G Cereal at General Mills. “This achievement reflects how we are evolving with consumer needs while continuing to offer food that tastes great, delivers quality and provides value.”

Evolving food for today’s consumer

This milestone reflects how General Mills continues to evolve with consumers by delivering great-tasting, affordable choices while expanding its range of options available for different needs and preferences. This fiscal year, the company will launch more than twice as many new products that align with evolving consumer nutrition preferences as it did just two years ago – including more protein and fiber options, along with even more new foods featuring familiar ingredients that consumers recognize and trust.

General Mills’ next certified colors removal milestone

With all U.S. cereals – including Lucky Charms and Trix – now free from certified colors, 90% of General Mills’ U.S. retail portfolio has completed the transition. The company remains on track to remove certified colors from its full U.S. retail portfolio by the end of 2027, including fruit snacks and baking products.

General Mills’ plan to remove certified colors across its U.S. portfolio includes three key milestones:
