Sound Point Capital Management, LP (“Sound Point”), a global alternative credit manager, today announced that Faris AbiNader has joined the firm as Head of Real Estate Capital Formation, with a focus on institutional capital formation for Sound Point’s commercial real estate credit business.

Mr. AbiNader joins Sound Point amid significant momentum in its commercial real estate credit business, which has grown into a multi-billion-dollar platform. The business has expanded through a combination of organic growth and additional institutional mandates, including opportunities to manage portfolios on behalf of strategic insurance partners.

Sound Point’s CRE platform focuses primarily on originating senior, first-lien mortgages secured by middle-market, light-transitional commercial real estate, with an emphasis on multifamily and industrial properties in select U.S. markets. The CRE team has a nine-year track record and has originated approximately $4.3 billion across 167 first-mortgage loans as of March 31, 20261.

Mr. AbiNader brings extensive experience in institutional capital formation across real estate, private credit, and structured credit. Prior to joining Sound Point, he was a Managing Director at Cerberus Capital Management, where he represented the firm’s residential investment platform to institutional investors and investment consultants globally. Previously, he held senior business development and capital formation roles at Ellington Management Group and EnTrust Global.
