KUZÁ PROMOTES RESPONSIBLE TOURISM WITH A NEW EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION FOR THE PROTECTION OF 22 HECTARES OF MANGROVE

ROO, MEXICO, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Kuzá Beach & Adventure Park announced the launch of “Kuzá Natural Expedition”, a new educational experience that invites visitors to discover the biodiversity of Cozumel and, at the same time, announced that it obtained a certificate from the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) through which 22.37 hectares of mangrove are recognized as an Area Voluntarily Dedicated to Conservation for the next 25 years.

Experience and certification are part of the same vision of responsible tourism, aimed at generating experiences that allow people to learn about, value and contribute to the conservation of the island’s natural heritage.

Through the “Kuzá Natural Expedition,” visitors can explore trails surrounded by native vegetation, observe birds, and learn about different species of flora and fauna, as well as the various types of mangroves and their importance for maintaining ecosystem balance. The tour also includes a visit to the park’s meliponary, where participants will learn about melipona bees, their ecological importance, and their role within ecosystems.

Lasting approximately one hour, the “Kuzá Natural Expedition” has a maximum capacity of 20 participants and is designed for visitors aged 7 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. To enhance the experience, Kuzá will provide support materials such as a Cozumel bird guide, binoculars, and safety equipment. This experience will be offered twice daily.

As part of this commitment, Kuzá announced that it has obtained certification recognizing 22.37 hectares of mangrove forest as a Voluntary Conservation Area for the next 25 years. The area, registered with CONANP and located within Kuzá’s property, will be used for surveillance, monitoring, research, environmental education, and low-impact tourism.

This certification allows us to give structure and continuity to a commitment we want to maintain for decades to come, protecting the ecosystem and promoting a form of tourism that is compatible with conservation,” said Germán Osorio.

Mangroves fulfill essential functions for coastal ecosystems, providing refuge and habitat for numerous species and contributing to the environmental balance of coastal areas. Therefore, protecting this area is an important component of Kuzá’s sustainability strategy.
