Sightbridge Capital Partners, LLC (“Sightbridge”) today announced the appointment of Katie Peterson and Nick Brakovich as managing directors, private wealth. The appointments expand the firm’s private wealth team ahead of the launch of its first programs. Sightbridge partners with institutional real estate owner-operators to bring tax-advantaged real estate programs to the U.S. private wealth channel.
Peterson and Brakovich will work closely with Jay Frank, Sightbridge’s founder and chief executive officer, to build Sightbridge’s presence in the private wealth channel. Peterson will focus on national account and platform relationships and on home office research and due diligence. Brakovich will focus on platform and advisor coverage. Together they bring 34 years of experience in alternative investment distribution across wirehouses, registered investment advisors, banks, independent broker-dealers, and family offices.
“I have worked with Katie and Nick and known them for years,” said Frank. “Katie has run national accounts and worked the due diligence side of this business. Nick has covered advisors, home offices at the due diligence level, and spent time building technology for the industry. Their skill sets and experience align with where Sightbridge is headed. We will keep building around them.”
Peterson brings 14 years of experience in financial services and alternative investment distribution. She previously served as head of private wealth distribution at StratCap Securities and as senior vice president, national accounts, at Cantor Fitzgerald Asset Management, where she was a senior member of the relationship team supporting due diligence, marketing, and product distribution. Earlier, she was a senior supervisory principal at Questar Capital, managing the due diligence process for alternative investment offerings. Peterson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 52, 53, and 66 licenses. She co-chairs the Next Gen committee of ADISA, the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association, is an alumna of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives Rising Leaders Program, and is based in New York City.
“The firms I work with are not short on tax-advantaged real estate options. They are short on programs they can defend on structure, economics, reporting, and alignment. That is a solvable problem, and it is the one I came here to work on,” Peterson said.
Brakovich brings 20 years of experience in alternative investment distribution and fintech across private wealth, most recently as chief revenue officer at DataDasher, an AI workflow automation firm serving professional services. Earlier he served as regional vice president at PREP Securities and as regional vice president and national accounts manager at Stira Capital Markets Group. Across his career, he has built longstanding relationships with sponsors, advisors, and platform gatekeepers across real estate and private wealth. He earned a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and development from the University of Southern California, holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, and is based in Newport Beach, Calif.
“Advisors want better choices in this category, and the home offices that decide what reaches them want the same thing,” Brakovich said. “I have covered advisors in the field, managed national account relationships, and most recently built technology for this industry. All three matter to getting a program adopted and used.”
