BAE Systems receives $230 million contract for new Amphibious Combat Vehicle variant
PR Newswire
YORK, Pa., Oct. 8, 2026
YORK, Pa., Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — BAE Systems (LON: BA) has received a $230.1 million contract for the production of 32 Amphibious Combat Vehicle chassis in the Recovery Mission Role variant (ACV-R), the latest addition to the ACV family of vehicles, further expanding the U.S. Marine Corps’ portfolio of advanced amphibious capabilities.

The ACV-R variant is designed to enhance the ACV fleet’s operational capability by providing recovery capabilities. The capability enables the Marine Corps to rapidly recover and maintain its vehicles as needed, ensuring they remain mission-ready in a rapidly changing environment.
“Our partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps has been instrumental in the development and production of the ACV program, and this award highlights our shared commitment to make sure they are equipped with the capabilities they need to succeed,” said Rebecca McGrane, vice president of amphibious vehicles at BAE Systems. “The ACV-R is a critical addition to the fleet, and we remain dedicated to delivering a high-quality vehicle that supports Marines, providing cutting-edge solutions to keep our warfighters safe in any mission.”
This latest contract for the ACV-R variant chassis builds on BAE Systems’ existing portfolio of ACVs. The platform’s modular design is adaptable, allowing for a range of configurations that enable the Marine Corps to address various operational needs. These configurations include the ACV-30’s firepower, the ACV-Personnel’s (ACV-P) troop transport capacity and the ACV-Command’s (ACV-C) command and control capabilities.
Work on the ACV-R program will primarily take place in York, Pennsylvania through 2029 and includes the Government’s design and final integration of the Palfinger Crane at Anniston Army Depot prior to fielding the ACV-R Mission Role variant to the Fleet Marine Force.
